One Christmas Bear For You and Your Little Ones

One of my favorite things I love to do is read to little ones. It always so fun to watch their reactions to the story and the pictures. We started reading to our boys, well pretty much right after they were born. It has been something very important to my husband and me. Reading is a must in our lives and both our boys love to read too.

But for me, it was something more. That special time, cuddled with your little one and sharing a special story. It's a wonderful bonding time and the closeness to each other is a very calming and relaxing thing.

My husband liked to make books very entertaining. He would make voices for the characters in them. His favorite to read to them included a fairly good imitation of Richard M. Nixon.

But just reading any old book is not enough. I think it is vital to make sure you are reading books to your little ones, your not so little ones, and encouraging your older kids to read on their own, books that are going to help them draw closer to God.

One sweet book that is available right now is just precious, One Christmas Bear, written and illustrated by Anne Vittur Kennedy.

Count the joys of Christmas with Christmas Bear and his arctic friends in One Christmas Bear, the new holiday-shaped board book for toddlers and preschoolers by Anne Vittur Kennedy. With beautiful illustrations and simple, rhyming text, One Christmas Bear is perfect to help little ones learn to count, and wonderful for families to enjoy together. Little ones will love to count seasonal elements, such as crunchy candy canes, colorful ornaments, and frosty snowflakes, and parents will appreciate the emphasis on family, friends, and the sweet depiction of the reason for the season—Jesus’ birth!

Anne Vittur Kennedy has been delighting young children with her humorous and playful books for thirty years. Her awards include American Library Association’s Notable Books List, Teacher’s Choice, The Green Earth Book Award, and The Green Prize for Sustainable Literature.

What I really like about this board book is the size. It's big enough to really see the story well and yet still small enough for your little one to help hold too. This is one book I know I will enjoy sharing with the little ones in my life.

You can find One Christmas Bear at many local retailers and online at Amazon and Christian Book Distributors.

The Naspira Helps Easily Helps Clean Out Little Ones Noses

One of the most miserable times you can have as a mom is when your little ones are sick, and the younger they are, the harder it seems too. They can't tell you where it hurts of how they feel bad, but I am thankful that there are companies helping us moms (and grandmoms) take care of our little ones.

NeilMed, the makers of the NasaFlo Neti Pot, is one of those companies. They have the Naspira Nasal Oral Aspirator for Babies & Kids. This is the neatest thing to have and so much better than just a nasal bulb by itself.

The Naspira is made up of a nasal bulb, clear plastic coupler, filter, tubing, and mouth piece. All the pieces are made of a high quality silicone and can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand and then sterilized. The Naspira also comes with a fantastic booklet that has all the directions in how to use and care for it, replacement filters, and a drawstring storage bag.

Using the Naspira is very simple. It comes assembled and ready to use right away, but the whole thing can be taken apart easily. The bulb tip end is placed in your child's nose and the mouth piece in your mouth. You simply suck on the hose to remove the mucus from your child's nose safely. The good thing is that the hose has a one-way valve that prevents you from blowing into your child's nose and a filter that prevents and of the gunk coming out getting into the tube or your mouth.

Now using the Naspira at first sounded pretty icky to me to be honest. Let's face it, little kid's noses can get pretty icky sometimes. But after trying it out, I was impressed with how well it works, how easy it is to use, and how safe it is to use. The neat thing is that it takes very little suction on your part to get it to work. But it is more suction that you can get by using just the traditional bulb aspirator. You can use the bulb by itself if you want, but having the oral suction really does get things cleaned out faster and more thoroughly.

The Naspira is easy to clean. It all comes apart and can be hand washed or put in the top rack of the dishwasher. The filter is the only part that can not be washed and reused. The Naspira comes with a filter in place and 6 replacement filters and you can buy replacement filters as needed. You can also sterilize the components to make sure they are completely clean and ready to use the next time. Directions are included in the booklet on how to do that. They also have great information on their website on how to use and care for the Naspira.

I am impressed with the Naspira. It really works, and it works well. It may seem a little icky at first to use, but then there are a lot of things with little kids that can seem a little icky to deal with. As a mom, we do it because we love them and it's good for them. I can highly recommend this to you!

KABRITA Offers A Safe Alternative To Cow's Milk Formulas

As a mom, I remember trying to find all the right things for my kids. Sometimes it wasn't easy, and it can even get harder if your child has a sensitivity or an allergy. The only time I had trouble was after breast feeding my kids. They weren't ready for whole milk, and it was hard to find what they needed.

One thing I know that a lot of moms are finding that works for their toddlers and I wish I had available for my kids when they were little is KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula. It is formulated for toddlers from 12-24 months.

Here's a little info from Kabrita about it:

~ Naturally easy to digest, premium non-GMO goat milk formula
~ May be a good solution for children with cow milk sensitivity (*not for a confirmed cow milk protein allergy). Cow milk sensitivity may cause symptoms such as colic, constipation and eczema
~ KABRITA Goat Milk Formula has a mild, sweet and fresh taste and smell. A safe, effective and nutritious alternative to homemade goat milk formula recipes
~ Nutritionally enriched goat milk formula with 22 vitamins and minerals including folic acid, DHA, ARA, and iron
~ Our playful, happy goats are raised on family farms and graze on fresh grasses
~ KABRITA formula has not been exposed to antibiotics, growth hormones or pesticides. Free from preservatives, artificial colors and flavors

Now I know some of you are thinking that there is no way you would give your child goat milk because it is just weird. Believe me, it's not. People have been drinking goat's milk for thousands of years and it's pretty good. There is a natural sweetness to it. But the best thing is how easy goat's milk is on your tummy and your digestive system. It is closer to human breast milk than any other milk and far more than cow's milk. That makes it a much better transition for your little ones when they are weaned.

But KABRITA doesn't just offer formula for your toddler. They also have amazing yogurt. I can't begin to tell how good their yogurts are. Their yogurt comes in three flavors, Mango Peach, Mixed berry, and Banana & Natural Vanilla Bean. All three are made with whole goat's milk and the flavors are fantastic. I tried these out myself and can tell you, they not only filled me up, but I noticed a difference in how my stomach felt after eating them. With yogurt made from cow's milk, I sometimes have tummy troubles. I think I may switch to goat's milk yogurt permanently.

KABRITA offers an alternative that is not only very good for your growing toddler, but also affordable, and especially when you consider the health benefits for your child.

You can learn more about KABRITA on their website or connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram.
