A Mini-Spa Facial With The MY Konjac Sponge

Review by Lisa

Lois asked me to test out the MY Konjac Sponge. I have never tried one before, so it was all new to me. Here's what I thought!

The facial Konjac sponge makes your face feel baby soft and smooth after your first use. The My Konjac Sponge is made from 100% pure Luxurious Konjac plant root and Natural Fiber Bamboo Charcoal, it contains activated carbon and various minerals that enhance absorption, perfect for removing access oil. It softly and gently exfoliates. It’s Chemical Free, pH Balanced and Biodegradable. You can toss it in the compost pile when you are done with it.

The MY Konjac Sponge I used is for oily and acne prone skin. I enjoyed the mini facial and the results were instant. My skin is revitalized, feels clean and cool, and it only takes seconds from start to finish.

MY Konjac Sponge are made exclusively with the konjac fiber, a pure vegetable fiber taken from the root of the Amorphophallus Konjac plant. Konjac plant, also known as konnyaku potato or elephant yam, is a plant that is native to eastern Asia. Konjac root is rich in minerals, vitamins, and it has been traditionally used as a beauty treatment for a long time in eastern Asia.

MY Konjac Sponge is made to the very highest of standards, using the purest volcanic rock filtered water and food grade konjac.

All of their products are hypoallergenic & fragrance free, are never tested on animals, and they carry the Vegan Society logo as well as Leaping Bunny logo, the highest standard of cruelty-free status in the cosmetics industry.

This really is a mini-spa facial!

6 Things You Should Know About A Konjac Sponge

I'm sure you've seen one of the latest trends in skincare. In fact if you have been reading my blog you know I have tried some of these out. Konjac Sponges are one of the newest things out there and they are wonderful!

Here are 6 things you should know about them!

1. Konjac sponges remove your makeup. You can use them alone for a quick clean up without makeup, but when combined with a cleanser, they gently remove your makeup without being rough on your skin. They even work to gently remove mascara.

2. They do not heal acne. I've read some claims that they do, but they don't. They do, however, help clean your skin well enough to reduce the amount of acne you get.

3. Konjac sponges are super gentle! When using them they won't irritate your skin like a scrub can do. They are wonderful for exfoliating and getting to those places where you have dry flakey skin. They are even safe to use if you have any rosacea or if you have sensitivities.

4. They do have a limited use. Konjac sponges can last for quite a while and wear down, but they should not be used indefinitely. They are a sponge, and sponges can build up bacteria over time. So replace them every month or two.

5. Konjac sponges will make you skin more radiant. It's amazing how much they do make your skin radiant. As they exfoliate they encourage circulation to increase, which in turn helps your skin look and feel more healthy. You will notice a big difference in how smooth your skin feels.

6. They are biodegradable! I really love this! When you toss out your old Konjac sponge, don't put it in the trash. Put it in the compost pile. It will break down and continue to be of use to your plants and garden!

Elova Essence has a wonderful Japanese Konjac Sponge infused with green tea and green clay. This a a small konjac sponge that does a wonderful job. I just love the way it cleans my face and keeps it looking fresh and healthy. The inclusion of the green tea helps to balance the ph in your skin.

I have to say that the best thing about the Japanese Konjac Sponge is the exfoliation! I have struggled with small dry, flakey patches on my face for years. Lots of things have helped, temporarily, but nothing has really eliminated the spots. The Konjac sponge has done the best job out of anything I have tried. The more consistently I use it, the less trouble I have. That's a huge incentive to keep using this wonderful sponge!

If you have not tried using a Konjac Sponge I can say you really should. It is something I am fairly sure you will not regret!

Love Washing Your Face By Using An Oleavine Konjac Sponge

There is something about being able to wash your face, get it clean, exfoliate your skin, and keep the pH balanced all with one product. It feels wonderful to not put any more chemicals on my face than I have to and still keep my skin looking and feeling good.

Oleavine has a wonderful 100% Plant Based Konjac Sponge that helps you keep your skin feeling and looking great without using a traditional cleanser or even a natural cleanser.

Here is some great info you should know:
~100% Natural, Eco-Friendly and Biodegradeable - They get the Konjac fiber from the volcanic plains in South Korea, that are free of chemicals, pollution and irritants.
~ Luxuriously gentle exfoliation for daily use. Soft enough for a baby's skin while still providing effective exfoliation. Relaxing and gentle for daily use even on the most sensitive skin. Say goodbye to the irritation caused by harsher exfoliating methods and expensive electronic gadgets. You don't even need to use a face cleanser, unless you want to. Fantastic for battling blackheads and breakouts! ~ New and Improved Teardrop Shape can be used for the face and body. New ergonomically designed teardrop shape fits comfortably in the palm of your hand while the soft rounded point allows you to gently exfoliate sensitive hard to reach areas around your eyes. Ideal shape for the contours of your face but still large enough for your body. You'll love using it in the shower or by the mirror!
~Free From Chemicals, Pollution and Irritants
~ 100% Biodegradable and Sustainable (You can even plant it in your flowerbed or compost when you want to retire it)
~ Not Tested on Animals, and Vegan Friendly
~ Has NO Added Dyes or Colorants

I love using a Konjac sponge on my face. I have several areas that are an on again - off again problem area with dryness. It's frustrating to have these small patches that can become so dry they can show up under makeup like a sore thumb. It's especially bad in the winter. Using the Oleavine Konjac Sponge helps alleviate the dry patches and keep them better in check.

When I add moisturizer after using the sponge, I don't have to add as much as I normally would. The sponge exfoliates the skin so well, that it becomes soft and supple, not in need of as much to keep it that way.

Using it in the shower is wonderful. Winter skin can be a real problem not just on your face. Using the Konjac sponge has helped me keep my knees, elbows, and feet from getting over-dried and keeps the rough patches in check. I love that!!

It's so easy to use. Just get it wet, rub all over your skin and then hang the sponge up to dry using the string that is attached to it. It dries out fairly quickly and is handy for the next use. I keep mine hanging on a small suction cup on our bathroom mirror.

If you have never tried a Konjac Sponge, I suggest you try one out. I love using them and the Oleavine Konjac Sponge is one of the nicest ones I have used. The shape is perfect for your hand and it is larger than others I have used before.

You can buy your own Oleavine 100% Plant Based Konjac Sponge HERE.
