The Easy@Home Digital Thermometer Is Doctor Approved

One of the most important things you need to have in a first aid kit is a thermometer, especially if you have children. Kids can run fevers for the slightest things, and it's important to know when you need to call the doctor and when you can handle something at home without a doctor.

But which kind of thermometer do you use? There are so many kinds and how accurate are they really?

Both very good questions.

One kind I have learned to trust is the Easy@Home Digital Infrared Ear Thermometer. We got ours at just the right time. My husband and I both had severe bronchitis and were running fevers. I can't begin to tell you how much nicer using an ear thermometer is compared to an oral one when you are really sick, can't breathe well, and coughing every other minute.

The thermometer comes with 2 AAA batteries that you need to operate it. They are really easy to install. It also comes with a nice case that holds the thermometer upright and covered, all ready to go. They have also included 15 probe covers that are very easy to put on and take off the thermometer, and complete instructions.

Setting up the thermometer took only a minute or two. The directions in the booklet are easy to follow and you need to set the time and date. When you place it in the ear you push the test button and will hear a beep. When it beeps again it is done testing. It's really easy to read and even when the little green light goes off you can still see the display. While using the thermometer there is memory so you can recall what someone's temperature was the last time you took it. You can have it recall the last 10 temperatures taken, the date and the time. That's a good thing to have when you need to call the doctor for something.

But the ease of use is not the only thing that is so good about this thermometer. It is also very accurate. I checked it with my doctor's office (I've been there a lot over the last month) and they were impressed with it. They compared it to the ones they use there in the office and said for an at-home device this was really nice! I would say that is high praise indeed.

The only problem I saw with the thermometer is that the probe covers do not fit in the nice case for the thermometer. I wish they did so the two parts were together all the time. But I can deal with that knowing how accurate it is and how easy it is to use.

Looking For An Easy Way To Take The Temperature Of meat?

Cooking and baking is something I love to do. It's a big part of my life and it's important to me to have products that work well.

MeasurePro has a nifty Digital Oven, Meat and Cooking Thermometer that I think is fantastic! I have wanted one like this for a long time.

The thermometer comes with a stainless steel probe that is about 8" long. That's plenty long enough to reach into even a very large roast or ham.  The end has a good point on it that makes it easy to insert into the meat. It also has a good curve at the other end so the probe sits nicely in the meat and does not stick up too far to bump the top of your oven.

The cord that is attached to the probe is about 44" long. That's plenty long enough to reach out to your counter next to your stove or to the side of your oven. It's also flexible so you can shape it to bend where you need to so it doesn't hang out in the way or catch on things.

I love the magnetic back to the thermometer. It sits really well on top of my stove, but I can also attach it to the side or front of my oven and the side of my microwave to store it. Having the magnets on it also makes it easy for it not to get bumped around on the counter while you are doing other things too.

To program the thermometer or to read it is so easy! All of the buttons are clearly marked and easy to see. It even comes with a AAA battery so you can get started right away. The screen on the thermometer can stay even with the base or bends to be seen while it is sitting on the counter. It has so many choices from the doneness of your meat, to what kind of meat and everything in between. I like the timer too, which is super loud and I can hear it from several rooms away.

This is a great digital thermometer and I would recommend it to you!

Something I Never Thought I Would Need Or Use, But Glad I Have Now

I never really gave a lot of thought to why it is necessary to have an infrared thermometer, until we moved into our home we are in now. Our home came with a few appliances and one being the oven, is used a lot. We learned fast that the oven temp is not accurate, but it was difficult to figure out where the hot spots were and how much the temperature varied from the setting on the knob.

Then I got the Nubee Temperature Gun Non-contact Infrared Thermometer. This has made baking a lot easier and more accurate!

The infrared thermometer is very easy to use. Accurate readings are as simple as pulling the trigger and aiming. The directions that come with it (and so do the batteries, YAY!) are easy to understand and it helps you figure out exactly what you are reading. You literally just point and click.

The reading on the display remains for a few seconds and if you don't click a button it will automatically turn off for you, saving battery life. It has a laser that you can leave on and get the exact measurement at a very specific point or turn off if you if you don't need it. Oh a small aside, the laser is fun to entertain your cat with. Just saying!

I found other ways than just in my oven to use this. It's nice to check water temperature which is important for my husband. He has diabetes and he has lost some of the sensation in his skin to temperatures. Having this has helped keep the water at a safe temp where he won't burn himself.

The thermometer is great for the grill too. You can clearly get a reading on how hot you have the flames and adjust accordingly. It's good for seeing where the cold spots are in your home so you can better insulate. What you can measure is limited only to your imagination!

Now, I don't see me using this a whole lot, but having it really helps for some things, and it is one of those things you will use more than you thought you would. It's very accurate and it's U.S. FDA, FCC, CE, ROHS approved. That's a very good thing!

The River Kitchen Digital Meat Thermometer Does More Than Meat

One thing that is really important when cooking is making sure the temperature of your food gets high enough to completely cook it, especially meat. Under cooked meat is one of the main cause for food-caused illness.

The best way to make sure your food is cooked properly is to have a good thermometer to test your food. That's where the River Kitchen Digital Meat Thermometer is so very helpful. I have been impressed with this thermometer.

One things I really like about it is the way it quickly pierces the food. There is a nice point on the end of a stainless steel probe that will reach deep inside even the thickest meat to give you the proper internal temp of that cut of meat.

As soon as you turn it on with the easy to use buttons, it starts working. You can see that even holding it, it is registering the heat from my fingers in Celsius and Fahrenheit! It's very easy to operate and easy to read. Which is nice, especially for my husband who is partially blind.

It comes with a really nice cover to protect it when not in use and if you really want to clip it on your apron, it has a clip that holds it securely in your pocket on on the edge of you apron. It's very long too. It's approximately 9" long, so it's gonna reach down in the largest cut of meat or a big pot of soup and it can even be used for making candy! it's waterproof and shock-proof. I also like that it has an auto-shut off. You can manually shut if off, but when you are busy cooking it would be easy to forget it from time to time.

I also appreciate that it comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. It's a great multi-purpose thermometer that will help you keep your family's food safe for them! I love using this thermometer and think you will too!

Plus here is a great bonus from River kitchen. This is a great reference chart for the proper temperatures for meats and other dishes! Right click on the image to save it and then you can print it off large enough to see well and hang up somewhere in your kitchen to be handy while cooking!
