A Little Luxury Doesn't Hurt Once In A While

Every now and then, a little luxury in your life is worth the effort and the cost. It can lift your spirit and help you relax and feel special. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't over do it and mess up your budget.

Well one luxury I enjoy are beautiful bath towels. There's something about getting out of the shower and wrapping yourself in soft, luxurious towels. One set of towels I just got are from Salbakos, and they exude luxury.

The towels are some of the softest I have ever tried and remind me of the ones I got to use at a 5 star spa in San Francisco. Each towel is oversized and measures 30" x 60". They are made from 5% Italian Silk and 95% combed Turkish Cotton spun together into yarns making them super soft and highly absorbent. The towels even have a slight sheen to them from the silk.

Another thing I love about these towels is they are made from eco-friendly, pesticide and harmful chemical free materials. All materials used in manufacturing are Oeko-Tex® and ISO 9001 Certified. Basically that means that the materials go through a long, rigorous testing and quality certification to guarantee they are eco-friendly and safe from chemicals that could harm you or the planet.

The best thing I love about these towels is using them. They seriously are the nicest I have ever owned and I do believe they rival the ones from the spa! I love wrapping myself in them. They are the perfect size and weight to absorb all the moisture to dry off and not feel too heavy while doing so. Plus as you wash them, they become softer.

Although these towels may seem expensive, especially compared to buying towels at a superstore or department store, they really are reasonable when it comes to luxury towels. I priced some online and found the average cost for silk and cotton towels is around $200 per towel. Ouch!! These are a much more price-friendly luxury!

A little spoiling now and then does not hurt and a set of two towels is a very nice way to be spoiled!

You can purchase the set of 2 Salbakos Fine Italian Silk and Combed Turkish Cotton Bath Towels HERE! They come in three colors options, Ivory, Taupe, or White.

Eat Green Tea Whole Leaf Review and Giveaway!

I think most of you are very aware of Green Tea. The benefits of taking it are numerable. There are a ton of ways that you can get it too. There are capsules, tea bags and now Edible Green Tea!
I received a free sample of Eat Green Tea Whole Leaf a short while ago to try out. I have to admit I was a little leery about the product. I've never been very fond of loose tea of any kind and wasn't sure if it would be like all the others. Good thing is, it is similar, but you don't use it the same way! Instead of brewing it, you eat it.

Here's a little about it:
ORGANIC WHOLE LEAF EDIBLE GREEN TEA 100 grams (about a 1 month supply)
We tested samples from organic tea farms around the world to bring you whole tea leaves that are highest in antioxidants and lowest in toxins. We are proud to present to you the purest green tea leaves available anywhere. There is 100 times more EGCG (a powerful antioxidant) in EatGreenTea leaves than there is in brewed green tea. So don’t throw away the powerful nutrients in green tea – EAT THE WHOLE LEAF! But beware that not all teas are created equal.
1. Our tea is GREEN tea. Black and oolong teas have been intentionally oxidized which reduces their nutritional potency.
2. Our green tea has been picked by HAND. Machine-picking breaks and damages the leaves which causes degradation in their quality.
3. We offer our edible green tea in WHOLE LEAF form. Broken leaves and tea dust has lost much of its nutritional goodness.
4. Our edible Green Tea is 100% USDA Certified Organic. This ensures that pesticides, herbicides, and toxic fertilizers have not been applied to the plant. And more importantly are not finding their way into your body.
5. Finally, our Green Tea has been tested for levels of heavy metals (very toxic to the body). Even if a farm is certified organic, these highly toxic destructive can still be present in dangerous levels due to nearby industry, previous pollution of the area, or other factors. Our edible green tea has been lab tested for purity and antioxidant potency.
Each package contains 100 grams, or about 1 month’s supply.
We provide a number of recipes to show you that you can mix it into or put it on top of just about anything you eat. We particularly love it in our smoothies :)
The first thing I tried my sample in was a batch of stuffing I made.  I didn't like it at first. I think it was because the Green Tea didn't have enough time to absorb some of the moisture and soften. The second thing I tried it in was a salad. That was a little better. With all the greens I didn't notice the individual pieces of tea leaves as much. We also tried it in a smoothie too. Just click the image below to get the whole recipe. But remember to add approximately 1 tbsp of Edible Green Tea to each serving! It was really good in the smoothie and gave me a big boost of energy the whole day.

The Eat Green Tea site has a lot of recipes they have tried out with the green tea leaves incorporated. It makes it easy to figure out what things you can add it to and how. The more I played with it, the easier it got to use and the more I liked it. I think I was just a little too skeptical at first, now not at all!! You just need to learn to treat it like any other kind of herb or spice you might add to your food. Chop it up a bit, even crush the leaves and sprinkle it on and it works really well. You get all the amazing benefits of using green tea to boost your energy and the antioxidants in your system! If you are a little leery about using the leaves it also come in a powder too. Love that!!

I Love Saving Money...But FREE Is Better!!

Today I went shopping for just a few things I need for a party this weekend. I decided since I was in town that I would go ahead and pick up a few other things too, free things! I have been saving up some of my coupons for free items to pick up in one trip. Well I didn't use all of them because we didn't have time and WalMart has a 40 coupon limit and I have way more than that!  But I did get to experience something fun.

Here is a picture of everything I got for free today.
Not a huge haul, but a fun haul. Let me explain. The easy things are the two 12 packs of soda. They each cost $3.98. The coupon for each gave me $3.98 off. Three cups of Meow Mix Cat Food were $0.48 and $0.48 off each. Two 20 oz. Diet Cokes were $1.58 and $1.58 off each.Three Silk Fruit & Proteins were $3.78 and $3.78 off each. One Silk Pure Almond Milk was $3.18 and $3.18 off. Four Zone Bars were $0.98 and $0.98 off each. So when you add all that up it would have cost me $31.10 with the tax. But with the coupons it cost me the $0.10 in tax alone!!

But it gets better. The Reach Dental Floss was $0.97 and I had a $1 coupon, so with the tax it cost me $0.04!!! And the 20 lb bag of Purina Dog Chow was $11.72 and with tax would have cost me $12.54. BUT I had a coupon from Klout that gave me $15.99 off. WalMart's policy is to give the full value of the coupon so it really cost me negative $3.45.

So grand total for all my freebies is negative $3.31!!! They paid me $3.31 to buy all of it. WhooHoo!!! My husband was with me and he was thrilled. We don't often shop together, but he has decided maybe he will more often if this is what happens all the time. I wish it was what happened all the time. Sadly it is not, but today I am going to enjoy it and and feed my dogs! LOL!!

So what has been some of you fun shopping trips? I would love to hear about them.
