Need To Do Some Serious Pruning? Here's Some Help!

Gardening is a favorite pastime of mine, so I love it when I find a tool that helps me do what I love with more ease.

The GARTOL Anvil Lopper is perfect for that! I was seriously impressed when I got them. I remember using loppers when I grew up on the farm my family lived on. I hated using them. They had wooden handles that had bad grips and were hard to operate. I just didn't have the strength to use them well.

That's not the case with the GARTOL Anvil Lopper. This is a serious gardening tool! The size is great, you can use them to cut small to fairly good sized branches with ease. The handles are made with a specially designed ergonomic grip, made of a triangular iron thick tube, that is firm, durable and solid enough to withstand powerful forces. I love how well balanced they are. I remember some of my Dad's old ones that the blades were much heavier than the handles and it always felt like you were going to drop them after the cut was made. That does not happen with these! It is comfortable to hold, and it's easy to keep them even and level.

The blades are made of a high-carbon steel that will hold it's edge for a long time and will not rust, bend or dent. Love that! And boy, can the blades handle some good sized branches. We were able to use them on 2" green limbs easily. The lopper made it as easy as slicing bread. I was impressed and it took so little effort on my part. The lopper did all the work for me.

I liked the curve of the blades too. It makes it easy to keep them in place as you get ready to cut. The lopper is 29" long and has a compound action making the cut for you. Your arms and back are not going to tire easily using these!

So Many Wonderful Options To Choose From

Ever have a sprayer for your hose that just does not work well? It leaks, dribbles, is hard to operate and the settings on it are hard to figure out or just don't work. I have had many that have been like that.

The Careful Gardener Garden Hose Nozzle/ Spray Gun so far has not been one of those sprayers! I have been very impressed with how well this sprayer has been working. It is made very well. I know, I dropped it several times on our concrete drive and not a ding or chip anywhere and it is still working.

There are a total of 9 different water spray options and each one works well. The side of the nozzle has the name of the spray clearly identified. It's very easy to change from one spray pattern to another.

I love the Shower and Mist for most of my watering, but I really like the Angle option for reaching up and over the edge of hanging baskets without having to finagle my hands or the sprayer. The water just sprays down at an angle making it really easy to get the water where you want instead of all over the place. It helps especially being able to use less water to get the job done.

The blast setting is really good for working on dirt and debris build up on our siding, the car (especially the tires) and on our concrete drive. Trying the different settings has been nice and figuring out where best to use them. The option of so many settings makes this sprayer very versatile!

The handle and spray trigger are very comfortable and even with the arthritis in my hands I don't tire using it. It does not take a lot of strength to pull the trigger and continue holding it. The rubber coating on both the handle and spray help keep your hands securely in place even when sweaty and if they get wet.

I also like the little water pressure control knob. I can regulate the amount of water for each job without having to go back to the spigot on the side of the house. Less steps and less time, making the jobs go faster and easier.

This is the best sprayer I have ever tried and I have tried a lot. Very happy with it and can highly recommend it to you!

The Alite LED Plant Grow Light Is Perfect For Keeping You Indoor Plants Healthy

I have been an avid gardener for as long as I can remember. My Grandmother used to take me out in the garden and on walks in fields and woods and taught me a lot about plants and growing them and their uses. I love it and wish I could remember more of what she taught me. But even since then I have learned a lot on my own and have enjoyed being a Master Gardener and instructor for the Master Gardener program in my state.

One thing I think every gardener can use is grow lights. They are important when planning for your summer garden and for helping keep indoor plants alive during those long winter days.

Alite has an Advanced LED Plant Grow Light that I think is fantastic. It is a really good sized light that will help in your garden planning and growing. This is the first time I have tried out an LED grow light and I have been impressed with it.

You use the bulb in a standard E27 socket which is very convenient. There is no need to have specialized lighting fixtures to be able to use this bulb. I love the idea of being able to use in pretty much in any room of the house!

The lower temperature of the light really is super beneficial. I was very pleased with that as one of my biggest concerns over the years with any grow light has been the heat generated by the bulb. It sometimes would become difficult to regulate the height of the bulb from the plants still giving them enough light without burning them.

Being LED lights, this will help extend the life of the bulb too and cost It seems like other grow lights I have tried blow out way too fast for my liking! The average lifespan of one of the LED bulbs is 50,000 hours. That's incredible!

I can say that I have been highly impressed with this bulb and I am hoping to get several more! I am looking forward to using it this coming winter to keep my rosemary and scented geraniums alive and healthy all season long!
