Fun Using Brieftons QuickSlice Spiralizer For Healthy Meals

When it comes to trying out new things, I am all for it. It's fun to see how something will work, or not work depending on what it is. So when I got this new gadget, I was happy to see how it things would turn out.

The new gadget is the Brieftons QuickSlice Spiralizer. This is a pretty nifty gadget. It comes with everything you need to start turning veggies into healthy dishes for you and your family. When you first get it, there is some assembly required, but it is easy to do and they send along very good directions for you to follow. I do want to caution you, the blades are VERY sharp! So be careful with this and who uses it.

Once you have the Spiralizer put together it is really easy and quick to start using it. The base has 4 good sized suction feet to hold it in place on your counter. I was thrilled with how well it does stay in place. It's sturdy and is made from a food-safe plastic that is easy to clean and care for. The blades are stainless steel, which means they won't rust and will hold up to a lot of use.

There are a total of 4 options for cutting food; slicing, and three sizes of 'noodle'. It's really easy to change the blade using the small knob on the side. Once changed, the blade does not move at all until you change it. Again, they include good directions for you so you can get the most out of using this Spiralizer.

The vegetables are easy to place in the Spiralizer and you can put in fairly good sized things to cut without any problem. The turn crank holds the veggies snugly making it easy to turn the crank and slide the tray along. We tried out cucumber and potato to start with it. With cucumber, the slicing spiral action does not work quite as well as the other options, but with the potato, all of the blades work great. I'm looking forward to trying out more veggies, especially onions for our salads.

I'll be honest, I'm not really sure how much we would really use this, but I do know for someone who wants to replace starchy noodles with veggie noodles, this is perfect! After using this and comparing it to one of those funnel shaped spiralizers, I would highly recommend this over the other! So much easier to use and can handle a larger variety or produce with ease. Plus you can get it at a good price.

I Love The Brieftons Chopper, Blender, Slicer & Grater

If you have been reading here for a while, you know I love kitchen gadgets that save me time and energy. Okay, I just love kitchen gadgets pretty much of any kind. But this one is so nice and so easy to use. I love it!

This is the Brieftons Food Chopper, Blender, Slicer & Grater. This is such a nifty thing to have in the kitchen. It can do an awful lot and save a lot of time!

So what is this thing after all. Well, it is a fantastic chopper. The nice thing about it is there are two compartments. You can chop two things at once. Each size holds approximately 3 cups, which a a really good amount to be working with at one time.

The way the chopper works with with the pull handle. As you pull it out and let it go back in, it chops the food with the three blades.
I have the single bowl of this product and use it often. With this one, I am saving so much more time. I can chop onions and celery at the same time. Or if I need a really big batch of onions, I can chop some in both sides.

But it doesn't stop there. There are also mixing blades included. You can mix up dips and sauce really quickly without having to get out your hand mixer or counter mixer. The mixing blades work similar to a whisk, allowing air to move in and through what you are mixing to blend quickly and easily.

What I really like is I can chop something on one side and blend something on the other all at the same time. All done quickly and easily without having to wash  something over and over to get the job done.

But there is more (I think I sound a little like one of those info commercials, LOL!) there is a piece included that turns your chopper into a slicer and grater. It comes with  grater, shredder, julienne, and slicer, as well as a food holder to protect your fingers. Each piece locks in place on top of the bowl securely. I love that the center divider in the chopper comes out giving you plenty of room to grate or slice as you need. It will hold a whopping 6 cups of things you prepare as you work.

The chopper comes with really nice rubber ring grips on the bottom. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they hold the chopper in place as you work. It doesn't slide around at all. It is also easy to wash. The blades and bowl are top rack dishwasher safe, although they do recommend you hand wash it in the included manual, to prolong the life of the product. The whole things is made from a sturdy food-safe plastic and stainless steel.

I really like this a lot. I will keep using my single one as well. Both will make things super easy here at home and on camping trips. Perfect for mixing all kinds of things from dips, pudding, sauces, chopping ingredients for homemade salsa and more! I highly recommend it to you.

Glass Water Bottles Are Not Just For Water!

Sometimes you really need to have good glass bottles to use for drinking or storing things. Glass just works better, especially for long term storage.

Brieftons Glass Water Bottles are perfect for that. The set of 18 oz glass bottles come in a set of 6, which is great for use as a family for water bottles of for a unified look in storage. Each bottle comes with a stainless steel screw on cap that has a food grade silicone seal in it.

The size of these bottles is great. They feel good in your hand and are very easy to fill. The opening is a good size for filling with liquid, but can hold a funnel well for filling with herbs or grains. I found them really easy to drink from and being glass there is no chance of any flavor contamination from plastic or silicone.

What I thought they would be perfect for in our home was for homemade dressings and sauces. They are just the right size for several small recipes and they store so nicely in the fridge. In the average fridge they can sit one in front of the other, not taking up a lot of room. Since they are clear glass, you can clearly see what is in each one, although I still recommend labeling them. The tight seal on the lid really helps keep things fresh in them and it is also leak-proof, so if they tip or get bumped over, they won't spill.

I know these are intended as water bottles, but I have enjoyed them as storage bottles for several things in my home and plan on getting more for a nice uniform look in my kitchen. Plus they come with a nice bonus bottle brush to help you clean them!

Looking For A Nice Mandoline At A Good Price?

I think pretty much everyone I know would say finding tools that help make the job of cooking go faster and easier is a very good thing. That's how I feel! Well Brieftons has one tool that can help with that. They have a nice Mandoline Slicer that can cut down on the time you have to be slicing and cutting and it is easy to store.

The Mandoline comes with four inserts to help you cut things and grate.  There is the slicer, large (coarse) grater, small (fine) grater, and julienne insert. Each one is super easy to put in the mandoline and take out again.

The mandoline itself fits on top of a container that you can use to collect everything you cut or you can use the mandoline over a bowl using the notches on the back of it to hold it securely on the bowl (this is my favorite way to use it), or at an angle on the counter. At an angle on the counter does not work too well for me. It tends to want to slip around too much.

The mandoline has a nifty knob on it that can regulate the thickness of what you cut, 1mm, 3mm, or 5mm. It has the three settings, but you can turn it to really more than the three they say are there. It depends on your preference how thick things should be. I like it for cutting paper thin potatoes to make homemade potato chips. It is the easiest I have tried to do that with.

The food holder is nice. It has 4 long spikes and lot of short little knobs to hold the food for you while you slice. The handle on the holder moves up and down to help hold each kind of food easier and more securely.

I like the container it comes with. It is so easy to just cut everything by leaving the mandoline on top of it. Less mess to clean up. The container holds up to 50 oz. It also doubles to store all the cutting blades and holder while you store it in the cupboard too. I like that a lot. No digging around to find pieces or parts. They are all contained in one thing.

The Mandoline comes with a bonus vegetable peeler. It's a nice one, although it is not super sturdy. The handle is made of thin plastic and I am a little concerned it will not hold out too long. The blades on the peeler are nice and sharp though and it peels well.

This is a nice set and would make a good starter for any new cook or someone just setting up house. I can't say it is great, since I have one that is much nicer and made of more durable plastic than this one. but is a good start for someone.
