A Fantastic Utensil Set For Everyone's Kitchen

There is something about reaching for a utensil and knowing it will work well for you, and without really thinking about it. I'm sure you know what I mean. We all have kitchen items that we instinctively go to because they have done a good job for us.

Chefs Limited has a 6 piece Utensil Set that might just fit that bill for a lot of us.This compact 6-Piece Kitchen Tool Set includes a Spaghetti Server, Slotted Spoon, Soup Ladle, Flipper Spatula, Potato Masher, Whisk, and it also comes with a Swiveling Stand.

Each of the utensils are made of an FDA approved nylon that is light weight and can withstand heat up to 410°! That makes these pieces not only safe to use with your food, but very convenient, since you don't have to think "is this going to hold up when I plunge this spoon into this hot casserole?" You can just go ahead and plunge away!

Since the utensils are heat resistant and nylon, they are safe to use on all you nonstick cookware. I really like that a lot, because if they are safe for nonstick cookware, they are good for all my other cookware too. The handles of the utensils are made of a silicone-like material, that feels nice in your hands. It doesn't feel slippery like a lot of plastic utensils can when using. You can get a really good grip, which helps me a lot with my arthritis. And there is a little more weight to them compared to other nylon utensils I have tried. They don't give, even when stirring or scooping something heavy or thick.

I love how the handles have the extra little lip on them so when you set them down on a counter, the head of the utensil does not touch the counter. It kind of floats above it, keeping the counter cleaner and the utensil from getting anything on it other than the food you are using it with.

The swiveling stand does come unassembled, but really takes no time at all to put together. It holds all 6 of the utensils easily and really does not take up a lot of room on the counter. It turns nicely even when one or two of the pieces are not hanging on it. The stand will also sit just fine even with one piece hanging from it, even though it is just a light weight plastic. My only problem with the stand is that when I go to turn it, I want to turn it with the loop on the top. That just spins and spins on it's own. You actually have to turn the small hooks to turn it.

The whisk hangs very low off the hooks. At first I thought it was touching the counter, but it just barely hangs above it. I found that keeping the heaviest utensil across from it helps keep it just a smidge higher than if a lighter one is across from it. The heaviest piece is the soup ladle. My favorite piece is the flipper. It is not really wide, but it will still help flip large items. It has holes in the head that help things like grease drip off. The end of it is tapped nicely so it can get under things like pancakes without messing them up!

This is a great utensil set and I think it would make a wonderful addition to pretty much anyone's kitchen. It will fit in with a lot of modern decor, but you can always stash them in a drawer if they don't and they still will work great!

Simple, Small, and Very Effective

Over that last year or so we have tried out a variety of silicone products including oven mitts and pot holders, and all of them worked very well to help keep the heat off our hands. I think most of us know that silicone is fantastic for preventing the transfer of heat.

But let's face it, a lot of the silicone items are just not that comfortable to use on your hands. They are bulky and aren't flexible enough to do all the jobs you really need them to do. Some of them are even very awkward to use and I know those I don't feel secure carrying larger pans or bowls using them. I'm always a little nervous that what I am carrying will slip.

KitZen seemed to be aware of some of the concerns I and many other had about silicone mitts and pot holders. They developed a neat pair of Silicone Oven Mitts that are a lot easier to use and handle dishes and pots and pans with.

Here are some facts about them:
• they are heat resistant up to 670° F which is much higher than most of us would need
• cold resistant to well below zero for removing things from the freezer
• made with a silicone that is 100% Food-grade, PBA-Free Silicone, and approved by the FDA
• easy-to-wear design for small and large hands, including kids hands
• painless to clean, dishwasher safe (on the top shelf), and a non-toxic material
• an adhesive clip is included for convenient storage, wherever you desire and it holds both mitts together so they are handy all the time

When I first got the mitts I had to admit they were looked at with a little suspicion. It just didn't seem like they would do the job well, that there was not enough to protect my hands.

Boy was I wrong!

The mitts are very flexible and easy to wear on my hands. I don't have to stick my whole hand inside causing it to sweat and just feel uncomfortable like happens with the glove kind. My son said wearing them and manipulating your fingers in them reminded him of playing with a puppet. You just slip your thumb and fingers in and you can pick up any size pan, bowl, plate and even frozen object with ease. Even when damp, the heat will not conduct through the silicone like it does cloth.

The inside of the mitts where my fingers are is smooth and comfortable against my skin, while the "gripping" part has little ridges on them that hold things securely. Even slick frozen things I have been able to hold on to securely.

I like that they are easy to store too. They aren't bulky, so they don't take up as much drawer space, and they do stack together. They do come with a nifty little clip that does hold both of them together, but I haven't figured out yet where I want to hang them. Oh and I love the color. It is bright and I can find them quickly  in my kitchen because they stand out so well!

These are a great set of oven mitts that I can recommend completely!

How Much Thought Have You Given To Oven Mitts?

When you grab a pair of oven mitts, do you really think about them other than they will keep your hands from burning when you grab something how out of the oven? Maybe you thought about the color or fabric design when you bought them, but chances are that was about all. Most of us don't give a lit of thought to oven mitts. But we should!

Often oven mitts get too hot, they wear out quickly and get small places where they don't protect you from the heat as well and feel very worn and get discolored, and many times they don't protect your wrists very well. I can raise my hands wildly in the air that I have had oven mitts just like those!!

Rite Mitts makes a wonderful pair of oven mitts that WILL make you think twice about what kind you buy and use! Here are a few of the reasons why.

- The 100% flame retardant cotton
- They are heat resistant and have a silver coating giving added protection and will never wear out
- These oven mitts are the most durable available
- Outdoor or indoor use
- Comfortable to wear
- The Silver Coating Comes with a Full 3 Month Manufacturer's Warranty

I had honestly never really though about the cotton material being flame retardant or not, but it makes sense. Like most of us, I bought oven mitts because they looked nice and fit the decor of my kitchen. I figured they were heat resistant, that's what oven mitts are for after all!

The mitts fit pretty much everyone's hands. They are a little large on mine, but I can still use them easily and comfortably and even pull up over my shirt sleeve when I wear them. They fit my guys too, even my son who has quite large hands compared to mine. They are soft on the inside and keep your hands protected completely but you can still move your fingers enough to grasp things easily with them. And of course they come with the handy dandy little loops to hang them up! That's always a good thing.

I think these would make a great gift for any of the cooks or bakers in your life, even yourself!
