There is something about reaching for a utensil and knowing it will work well for you, and without really thinking about it. I'm sure you know what I mean. We all have kitchen items that we instinctively go to because they have done a good job for us.
Chefs Limited has a 6 piece Utensil Set that might just fit that bill for a lot of us.This compact 6-Piece Kitchen Tool Set includes a Spaghetti Server, Slotted Spoon, Soup Ladle, Flipper Spatula, Potato Masher, Whisk, and it also comes with a Swiveling Stand.
Each of the utensils are made of an FDA approved nylon that is light weight and can withstand heat up to 410°! That makes these pieces not only safe to use with your food, but very convenient, since you don't have to think "is this going to hold up when I plunge this spoon into this hot casserole?" You can just go ahead and plunge away!
Since the utensils are heat resistant and nylon, they are safe to use on all you nonstick cookware. I really like that a lot, because if they are safe for nonstick cookware, they are good for all my other cookware too. The handles of the utensils are made of a silicone-like material, that feels nice in your hands. It doesn't feel slippery like a lot of plastic utensils can when using. You can get a really good grip, which helps me a lot with my arthritis. And there is a little more weight to them compared to other nylon utensils I have tried. They don't give, even when stirring or scooping something heavy or thick.
I love how the handles have the extra little lip on them so when you set them down on a counter, the head of the utensil does not touch the counter. It kind of floats above it, keeping the counter cleaner and the utensil from getting anything on it other than the food you are using it with.
The swiveling stand does come unassembled, but really takes no time at all to put together. It holds all 6 of the utensils easily and really does not take up a lot of room on the counter. It turns nicely even when one or two of the pieces are not hanging on it. The stand will also sit just fine even with one piece hanging from it, even though it is just a light weight plastic. My only problem with the stand is that when I go to turn it, I want to turn it with the loop on the top. That just spins and spins on it's own. You actually have to turn the small hooks to turn it.
The whisk hangs very low off the hooks. At first I thought it was touching the counter, but it just barely hangs above it. I found that keeping the heaviest utensil across from it helps keep it just a smidge higher than if a lighter one is across from it. The heaviest piece is the soup ladle. My favorite piece is the flipper. It is not really wide, but it will still help flip large items. It has holes in the head that help things like grease drip off. The end of it is tapped nicely so it can get under things like pancakes without messing them up!
This is a great utensil set and I think it would make a wonderful addition to pretty much anyone's kitchen. It will fit in with a lot of modern decor, but you can always stash them in a drawer if they don't and they still will work great!
