A Book You Won't Want To Put Down

Starting from ScratchStarting from Scratch
by Kate Lloyd

I was never a big fan of Amish books, but this one is so different from others I have read. I was genuinely surprised at how wonderful this book was. It was hard to put it down.

The book was written in first person, drawing you into the world of Eva Lapp. She is a very believable character, and you are drawn into her life quickly, caring about what happens to her and those she loves. Things happened in her past that others twisted into painful gossip, something most everyone has experienced.

Eva was sure she would spend the rest of her life alone; no husband, no children. It was not what she wanted, but she was determined to make the best of things alone. Little did she know how much her life really was going to change.

The characters in the book are all people you can relate to, albeit some are a little eccentric, and it was enjoyable to see how each brought something special, although not always enjoyable, to Eva's life. Her faith and trust in God is stretched and she grows in ways she never expected.

This is a book I can recommend with no reservations. It is the second in the Lancaster Discoveries series, yet is an excellent stand-alone book.

You can purchase your own copy HERE!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.
