Defending Your Space From Unwanted Furry Neighbors

Rabbits.....aren't they just the sweetest things? Seriously, I enjoy seeing them and they are fun to watch. They are cute and fuzzy and I have a thing for cute and fuzzy creatures.

But rabbits are not just cute an fuzzy. They never really travel alone. If there is one.....there are more. Trust me! They always have a whole pack of them living near wherever you see one.

The sad thing is they can be very, very destructive. They can dig their burrows pretty much anywhere they will feel safe, and that includes your yard and mine! And that is where I am right now. Our whole neighborhood has been infested with rabbits. Every time we drive around our little home area we see several if not up to a dozen. It's become a big problem and people are concerned, rightly so! In one day our Newfoundland caught 3 baby rabbits. Not a good thing for several reasons!

So what do you do to protect your property. I hate the idea of killing them, although I do admit that at times it is necessary. But I would rather deter them from doing damage to our lawn and gardens and even our home.

That's why I got excited when I learned about Eco Defense Organic Pest Repellent. This has been something that has helped us a lot this summer. Here's a little from the company:

Eco Defense can be sprayed in all areas of your home and without worry. Eco Defense uses 100% Natural & Organic Pest Control Ingredients that are safe for you and your family. Can even be sprayed directly on vegetation without harming your plants or your body. Finally keep rabbits, moles, and deer out of your garden for good.

Now that's quite a bit for one product to do, but after spraying around our yard where we have had a few burrows being dug, we have seen fewer and fewer rabbits. I was careful not to spray the trees or bushes where our birds frequent and we still have them visiting. But around my flower beds and our shed where there had been signs of digging, we have not seen more digging or any indications of activity.

This summer has been very wet for our area of the country and we have had reapply it more that normal, but I don't have a problem with that if it means I don't have to kill any rabbits and can still protect our property. I can't say how well it works when it comes to the other animals listed since we do not have a problem with them nor do I recall seeing any of them. What I do know, is that it has helped with our rabbit problem and that makes me very happy! I don't have to wonder if what my Newfoundland is carrying in his mouth when he bounds up to me outside or inside is a baby rabbit (or a full grown one) that he has caught (and yes he has done that both outside and inside. Eeew!).

I love that it is safe and effective and does not cost an arm and a leg to buy!
