I think both bags are perfect in size. They have great handles that are easy to carry. The larger of them is perfect for a six pack of cans or for one of the lunch kits and extras. The smaller bag is something I know we will use often for my husband (although he will wish it was in almost any other color than pink). Since he is diabetic, we have to take his insulin with us when we travel even just for a day. A larger insulated bag is too big for his supplies and they kind of rattle around in it. We don't like packing it with other things either. The smaller Hango Lunch Bag is perfect for the job. It holds his injector pens and his insulin bottles and needles as well as his oral meds with room for an cold pack. It's very convenient, almost like it was made just for that!
Although I can see Mom with the larger bag and Daughter with the little bag. That would be cute!
Both bags keep things insulated for a long enough time to be very useful and like I said, they are easy to carry. My only complaint is that when they first came there was an odd chemical plastic smell to the bags. The smell has been going away, but it was a little overpowering at first and lingers much longer than I would like.
They also come with a handy storage bag to keep them in when you are not using them. That makes it nice for packing them away and knowing exactly where both are when you need them. Oh and the storage bag is just the right size for packing a pair of shoes, maybe even two if they are flats! LOL!! Bonus!!
