Bento Lunch Boxes Help With Portion Control and So Much More

Preparing meals for a family that is on different schedules can be difficult, especially when some of them work the night shift. Everything is different for them and it can throw the whole family off if you let it. Being able to have meals prepared for them and ready to go is one thing that helps them eat prperly and you from having to cook at weird times of the day or more times than you would like.

I have found that using Bento Lunch Boxes like these from Orgalif, makes all of this a lot easier! These lunch boxes are made with a sturdy BPA-free plastic that is dishwasher safe and can go from the freezer to the microwave easily. The plastic is nice and sturdy and should hold up to plenty of use. What I really like about them is how the lids not only have a tight seal around the outer edge, but also between each of the three compartments. The lid has been molded to fit over each of the three compartments snugly. It's not liquid tight, so keep that in mind as you use them, but it does keep food separated.

The compartments are great for helping with portion control. The large one holds 2½ cups of food, the next one holds 3/4 of a cup and the small one holds 1/2 cup. This can really help with any kind of diet you are on. You can make meals ahead of time and place them in the freezer, ready to pull out, no measuring, no fussing, just place in the microwave to heat.

I've also found that these are great to use for meals you prepare for shut-ins or those recovering from an illness. It's easy to fix some nice meals for them and drop them off. They can freeze some and know that they will have meals ready when they need them.

I know for us, having the option for my third shift workers to just pull out what I made for supper from the fridge, ready to go, is very handy. No digging around for containers to take to work. It's all ready for them to take. They would be great to tuck into your kids backpacks for school too. Just remember they are not liquid tight, so keep that in mind with what your send along.

A Bento Box For You Whole Family

I'm sure most of you have seen bento boxes when you are out and about shopping. One thing you may realize is that not all bento boxes are alike. Some are much better than others.

Lifemark Labs Bento Box is really far superior to any of  the others I have seen or tried. The box comes in several colors, so you can have one for each family member. They measure about 8 ½" x 8½" x 1½" in size. They have 3 compartments in 2 sizes to put your food in. I really like that they help you keep in mind good nutrition by helping you to control portion sizes.

The lid for this Bento Box stays on so well! It is snug and secure and completely waterproof! The four hinges, one on each side, ensure the lid is on and on to stay! I love that. If you drop it, nothing will come out or leak. This is especially good for kids since their lunches go through so much on the way to school and the lunchroom! No soggy backpacks or clothes from a leaky lunch!

The box is sturdy and can deal with being put in the microwave and the freezer. You do want to take the lid off though to heat it in the microwave so you do not damage the seal! Foods that need to be kept cold can be popped in the freezer and then have all morning long to thaw and still be cold and fresh for lunch!

They wash up by hand in dishwater or in the dishwasher. I have yet to have it stain and I don't think it will. Even gunky stuff has come clean from it.

This is a great bento box and with it's low profile will fit in backpacks, briefcases and more to save space and still give you a good sized lunch.

Love This Bento Lunch Box From Francois et Mimi

There are so many times that we pack snacks or lunches when we are going to be gone from home all day or are traveling. For years I have been using resealable plastic bags and a cooler that takes up a lot of room or just another larger bag to stash everything in. The snacks get very disorganized and sometimes crushed. It can be a mess. But when I use our cooler it's either too big to put in the front of the car or it's in the trunk which slows down the trip.

Francois et Mimi sent me the neatest thing that is helping with this mini dilemma we have. It's the Multi-Compartment Stackable Bento Lunch Box. This is the handiest thing! I have seen bento boxes around in the stores and online, but I had not tried one out yet. They made sense to me, but now I really get them and want a couple more!

The stackable boxes come with a wonderful and perfectly sized insulated bag with a small handle. The bag is made from a material that is stain and odor resistant, which is perfect for carrying food. When something gets on it, you can simply wipe it off clean. Love that!

The plastic boxes inside are made with a BPA-free plastic and FDA approved food grade materials. They are microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe (except the lids in the microwave or dishwasher) and are really easy to use. The lids fit tightly, but are not so tight that they are a pain to get on and off. All three stack securely on top of the others and it comes with a nifty elastic band to hold them all in place. It also has a special top lid that holds a nice set of plastic utensils at the ready to use.

One neat thing is that if you don't need all three containers you can use two and there is room for a small bottle or can of beverage. The insulated bag keeps things nice and cool (or warm) for quite a while!

I love how handy this stackable set is and it is super cute! They are perfect for as nice lunch bag or for a variety of snacks on a trip and being compact, it won't take up a lot of room in your vehicle or at your desk or locker.
