Eat Green Tea Whole Leaf Review and Giveaway!

I think most of you are very aware of Green Tea. The benefits of taking it are numerable. There are a ton of ways that you can get it too. There are capsules, tea bags and now Edible Green Tea!
I received a free sample of Eat Green Tea Whole Leaf a short while ago to try out. I have to admit I was a little leery about the product. I've never been very fond of loose tea of any kind and wasn't sure if it would be like all the others. Good thing is, it is similar, but you don't use it the same way! Instead of brewing it, you eat it.

Here's a little about it:
ORGANIC WHOLE LEAF EDIBLE GREEN TEA 100 grams (about a 1 month supply)
We tested samples from organic tea farms around the world to bring you whole tea leaves that are highest in antioxidants and lowest in toxins. We are proud to present to you the purest green tea leaves available anywhere. There is 100 times more EGCG (a powerful antioxidant) in EatGreenTea leaves than there is in brewed green tea. So don’t throw away the powerful nutrients in green tea – EAT THE WHOLE LEAF! But beware that not all teas are created equal.
1. Our tea is GREEN tea. Black and oolong teas have been intentionally oxidized which reduces their nutritional potency.
2. Our green tea has been picked by HAND. Machine-picking breaks and damages the leaves which causes degradation in their quality.
3. We offer our edible green tea in WHOLE LEAF form. Broken leaves and tea dust has lost much of its nutritional goodness.
4. Our edible Green Tea is 100% USDA Certified Organic. This ensures that pesticides, herbicides, and toxic fertilizers have not been applied to the plant. And more importantly are not finding their way into your body.
5. Finally, our Green Tea has been tested for levels of heavy metals (very toxic to the body). Even if a farm is certified organic, these highly toxic destructive can still be present in dangerous levels due to nearby industry, previous pollution of the area, or other factors. Our edible green tea has been lab tested for purity and antioxidant potency.
Each package contains 100 grams, or about 1 month’s supply.
We provide a number of recipes to show you that you can mix it into or put it on top of just about anything you eat. We particularly love it in our smoothies :)
The first thing I tried my sample in was a batch of stuffing I made.  I didn't like it at first. I think it was because the Green Tea didn't have enough time to absorb some of the moisture and soften. The second thing I tried it in was a salad. That was a little better. With all the greens I didn't notice the individual pieces of tea leaves as much. We also tried it in a smoothie too. Just click the image below to get the whole recipe. But remember to add approximately 1 tbsp of Edible Green Tea to each serving! It was really good in the smoothie and gave me a big boost of energy the whole day.

The Eat Green Tea site has a lot of recipes they have tried out with the green tea leaves incorporated. It makes it easy to figure out what things you can add it to and how. The more I played with it, the easier it got to use and the more I liked it. I think I was just a little too skeptical at first, now not at all!! You just need to learn to treat it like any other kind of herb or spice you might add to your food. Chop it up a bit, even crush the leaves and sprinkle it on and it works really well. You get all the amazing benefits of using green tea to boost your energy and the antioxidants in your system! If you are a little leery about using the leaves it also come in a powder too. Love that!!
