Surprise!!! It's A Mountain Of Wheat Thins!!! (Part Two)
Finally I was able to get a big project completed! Some of you may remember back in June I was sent 100 boxes of Wheat Thins after a challenge the Wheat Thins company made on Twitter. You can read about it HERE! Those poor little Wheat Thins boxes had to wait for things in my life to coordinate with things in the schedule of the local Salvation Army.
But delivered the boxes are!! It was so much fun. Since getting to the Salvation Army took a while, I went ahead and started collecting other food and encouraging a few other families to do the same. All in all they were extremely happy to see all the food show up! The day we arrived with the delivery we were told they were getting very low on food and the need was greater than ever. Waiting for help were over 25 families that day. It was a blessing to be a small part in helping and to share the generosity of Wheat Thins with them.
The volunteers at the Salvation Army were so busy they hardly had time to stop for a quick picture, but they thanked us over and over for the donation. I wish I had more to share with them. As we were leaving the building I was watching several volunteers pull out the boxes of Wheat Thins and putting them in bags for the people. That was fun to see.
I personally want to thank Wheat Thins for being so generous! Without that little push I may not have been able to get others to pitch in and help. Our personal contribution wasn't a lot, but every little bit helps and with what Wheat Thins donated it added up!
Thanks Wheat Thins!!!
