“With Every Letter” eReader Giveaway and 9/27 Facebook Party!

About the Book:

Book 1 in the Wings of the Nightingale series

Lt. Mellie Blake is looking forward to beginning her training as a flight nurse. She is not looking forward to writing a letter to a man she's never met - even if it is anonymous and part of a morale-building program. Lt. Ton MacGilliver, an officer stationed in North Africa, welcomes the idea of an anonymous correspondence - he's been trying to escape his infamous name for years.
As their letters crisscross the Atlantic, Tom and Mellie develop a unique friendship despite not knowing the other's true identity. Wren both are transferred to Algeria, the two are poised to meet face-to-face for the first time. Will they overcome their fears and reveal who they are, or will their future be held hostage by their pasts? Combining a flair for romance with excellent research and attention to detail, Sarah Sundin vividly brings to life the perilous challenges of WWII aviation, nursing - and true love.

What I Thought About The Book:

I grew up with a father who told me all kinds of things from WWII. He was in the Navy serving during the end of the war. Both he and my mother knew many friends and neighbors who served and lived what the characters Mellie and Tom did. I also have several dear friends who served in the war, one was a nurse stationed overseas similar to Mellie, the other served as a cook and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. I have loved hearing their stories about their time in the service and the dangers, the love and romance they experienced. Reading this book by Sarah really brought to life for me all of their stories. It was like living through the eyes of my Dad and my friends. The details woven in and throughout the book just kept me wanting more. It was really very difficult for me to put the book down. I felt as anxious about all those letters as Tom and Mellie did. Sarah has an amazing talent to draw the reader in and make them feel like they are in the book going through what all the characters are. There were times I caught myself imagining the music of the 40's playing in the background. I can't begin to tell you enough or how much I enjoyed reading this and can hardly wait for the next book in the series!
