Meet Austin:
As founder of Hoops of Hope, Austin started what is now known as the world's largest Free-Throw marathon. Austin's Hoops of Hope has raised more than $2.5 million to help orphan children in Africa. Austin also serves as Co-Chair of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer's Youth Council. As a highly sought after speaker, Austin has spoken and shared his heart in venues around the world. In 2009, Austin was selected into the Caring Hall of Fame as one of the top 10 most caring Americans.

What I Thought About The Book:
This was one of the most refreshing books I have read in a while. All the way through the book it gave me a sense that there are a few good young people out there. Way too many days I am concerned about the younger generations and how far most have fallen so far from God. My heart breaks over it. Reading this book gave me a sense that there are some who are truly serious about serving God and living for the reason He put us here on this Earth.
The whole way through the book Austin gave wonderful examples that any young person could relate to. He was real and honest with them. Never did he paint a picture that serving God was a bed of roses. Instead Austin was honest and upfront that it is not easy and there will be obstacles, but that you can still accomplish what God has called you to do. He gave practical tips on how to find out what your gifts and talents are and how you can go about using them in not simply small or big ways, but just using them. It's up to God what he does from there. I appreciated how he wove Scripture throughout supporting and encouraging what he said as well.
If you have pre-teens or teens I really recommend this book to encourage them to live fully for Christ and to really understand what service and giving is.
