How Reading the Bible in a Year will Change Everything For You
Many Christians feel guilty when they think of reading the Bible. Though they want to love reading Scripture, they rarely have time for more than a few verses on the run. But the Bible is not meant to be a burden. It is the story of God’s passionate love for His children. It is also not a book of mystical incantations. It is a best friend offering counsel and companionship. And it is not a distant relic, but something very near. Near enough, in fact, to be every reader’s story.
So how do Christians delight in this story rather than see it as a source of failure? The founder of the immensely popular Daily Audio Bible, Brian Hardin shows readers how reading through the Bible in a year will change their life and the lives of others. Passages shows readers how to read the Bible and offers practical ideas for immersing themselves in God’s life-giving words. Here readers will discover that reading the Bible can be a breathtaking adventure.

{What I thought about the book}
I have to say that when i first got the book all I could think was, "Oh good ANOTHER book on how to read the Bible. Like we don't have enough of those out there!". Well that very negative attitude was quickly changed as I got into the book. By the time I was through the first chapter I could not wait to read the next.
Brian has a way of being very down to earth, practical and realistic. Every excuse he gave for why we don't read was spot on. I've hear it from others or said it myself. he did not pussy-foot round with anything., He gets straight to the point and lets you have it. The way he approaches the whole thing does not feel like a formula or a magic cure like so many other Bible reading systems are. It's easy, understandable and makes sense. He challenges you to follow his example and he doesn't brow beat you about it.
I love he suggested reading schedules he gives too, his AudioBible plan, Chronological and Historical. All of them are ones i want to try myself and am really looking forward to it. I love reading my Bible. I think I will love it even more now and I will be able to encourage others in new ways to do the same!
I highly recommend Brian's book. And I don't say that lightly. After 20+ years in full-time ministry I have come across a lot of these kinds of books and this is by far NOT one of them!! it fits in a cattery all by itself!
