Anyone who knows me very well or has even slightly known me for a long time knows how much I am NOT a morning person. I am the kind of person who takes forever to shake off that morning foggy feeling. Lots of my friends tease me about not asking me anything hard before 10 AM.
Well it's not quite that bad, but I don't function too well in the morning and come alive late at night. So for me one of my least favorite things in the world is the alarm clock. It doesn't matte whether it is the radio, which usually has some stupid song playing when it comes on, or the horrible nerve jolting buzzer, I just don't like the thing. Oh sure I appreciate those little red digital numbers letting me know what the time is, well and maybe the snooze button, but pretty much everything else, not so much!
SheSpeaks contacted me a while back and asked me to try out a product. When I saw what it was I was intrigued. They asked me to try the Philips Wake-up Light. I read a little about it and couldn't wait to sign up and try it out.
It arrived and was a little bigger than I thought it would be, but I love the thing!!! It could be twice the size and I would still love it. When I read the instruction book and got it set up I was a little skeptical about how well it would work, but after several mornings I was thrilled! I wake up a little before the alarm goes off now and there is a lovely light gradually growing in my rooms. And then the birds start chirping quietly. It's wonderful, calm, peaceful ,and I am ready to go even if I didn't get as much sleep as I should have. My husband even likes it. He said that he has noticed how much more energized he feels and less jolted out of sleep than he used to feel. To me that's the best part, it just wakes you up gently.
The Phillips site has lots of wonderful information about how important good light is to goo health. It's all part of a barnacled and healthy life-style. But here is some of the basic information for you.

The light comes with some great features. You can use the light just by itself and raise and lower the amount of lit you want with a couple of buttons. It also has a radio with an attached antenna so you can pick up your favorite stations easily. There is also a more traditional alarm on it with the ever handy and oh so useful snooze!! It's easy to set and easy to use. But the best part is the birds setting. I love hearing those birds in the morning!
In the right side bar is a small box you can click on that will give you a $10 discount on the Philips Wake-up Light.Take advantage of it because this is one thing I think everyone should have it is that good!!
Now my only problem is my oldest son asked if he could try it out and I can't get it back from him!! Maybe I should get another one. What do you think?
I received a free sample from SheSpeaks & Phillips. It in no way influenced my opinion. All opinions expressed here are mine alone. I received no compensation for this review.
